Choosing the right senior cricket bat
Choosing a senior cricket bat isn't simply about finding the most expensive bat within your budget. Weight, pick-up, balance, profile and how the bat feels in your hands can all influence which bat is right for you.
Short Handle (SH) is the most common adult cricket bat size, with Long Handle (LH) and Long Blade (LB) options available for taller players or those who prefer the additional length. Selected Small Adult bats may also fall within our senior range depending on the manufacturer.
Hardball or softball cricket bat?
The type of cricket you're playing should determine the type of bat you choose. Softball cricket bats are designed for formats using softer cricket balls, while players using a traditional leather cricket ball will need an appropriate hardball cricket bat.
Our senior hardball range includes different constructions, grades and price points, including laminated and English willow bats. All hardball cricket bats purchased from Boundary Sports have the option of our FREE hand knocking-in service, with approximately 7 additional days required for preparation.
How much should I spend on a senior cricket bat?
Senior cricket bats are available across a wide range of price points. Your budget should reflect how regularly you play, the level of cricket you're playing and what you're looking for from your bat.
Our range includes more affordable hardball options through to premium English willow bats costing £400 and above. Price and willow grade aren't the only considerations, though — a bat that feels well balanced and suits your game can be more important than simply choosing the highest-priced option.
